This made me MAD

Okay...I am HEATED!!!
"Email from former co-worker"
WHAT IS HAPPENING TO THIS COUNTRY -- THAT WE COULD SERIOUSLY PUT AN ADMITTED BACKGROUND LIKE THIS IN A POSITION AS PRESIDENT AND COMMANDER IN CHIEF OF OUR ARMED FORCES!!!!
Think you know who this man is?
This possible President of the United States !! Read Below and ask yourselves, is this REALLY someone we can see as the President of our great nation!!!!
Below are a few lines from Obama's books; In his words!

From Dreams of My Father: 'I ceased to advertise my mother's race at the age of 12 or 13, when I began to suspect that by doing so I was ratiating myself to whites.'

From Dreams of My Father : 'I found a solace in nursing a pervasive sense of grievance and animosity against my mother's race.'

From Dreams of My Father: 'There was something about him that made me wary, a little too sure of himself, maybe. And white.'

From Dreams of My Father: 'It remained necessary to prove which side you were on, to show your loyalty to the black masses, to strike out and name names.'

From Dreams of My Father: 'I never emulate white men and brown men whose fates didn't speak to my own. It was into my father's image, the black man, son of Africa , that I'd packed all the attributes I sought in myself , the attributes of Martin and Malcolm, DuBois and Mandela.'

And FINALLY the Most Damming one of ALL of them!!!

From Audacity of Hope: I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction.
If you have never forwarded an e-mail, now is the time to Do so!!!! We CANNOT have someone with this type of mentality running our GREAT nation!! I don't care whether your a Democrat or a Conservative. We CANNOT turn ourselves over to this type of character in a President. PLEASE help spread the word!

To which I replied:
I am quite disappointed that as we close in on the end of the 1st decade of the 21st century, there are still those out there who are so threatened by CHANGE that they would hold dear such ignorance.

And yet I remain optimistic that there will be a brighter future for us ALL as Americans….no matter our race. Maybe one day Dr. King’s words will be more than just something we reflect on in order to be politically correct during the month of February, maybe they will become the call to action….the cry of humanity that we all can rally around and truly believe in.

To those who call themselves Christians….Christ-like. I charge & challenge each and every one of you to do your part to end the enemy’s reign and to stop this hatred from spreading any further. For it doesn’t matter who sits in the White House for the next 4 years….what truly matters is He who sits on the throne yesterday, today & forever.

.....ending of MLK's I have a Dream Speech

"Let us not wallow in the valley of despair, I say to you today, my friends.
And so even though we face the difficulties of today and tomorrow, I still have a dream. It is a dream deeply rooted in the American dream.
I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal."
I have a dream that one day on the red hills of Georgia, the sons of former slaves and the sons of former slave owners will be able to sit down together at the table of brotherhood.
I have a dream that one day even the state of Mississippi, a state sweltering with the heat of injustice, sweltering with the heat of oppression, will be transformed into an oasis of freedom and justice.
I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.
I have a dream today!
I have a dream that one day, down in Alabama, with its vicious racists, with its governor having his lips dripping with the words of "interposition" and "nullification" -- one day right there in Alabama little black boys and black girls will be able to join hands with little white boys and white girls as sisters and brothers.
I have a dream today!
I have a dream that one day every valley shall be exalted, and every hill and mountain shall be made low, the rough places will be made plain, and the crooked places will be made straight; "and the glory of the Lord shall be revealed and all flesh shall see it together."²
This is our hope, and this is the faith that I go back to the South with.
With this faith, we will be able to hew out of the mountain of despair a stone of hope. With this faith, we will be able to transform the jangling discords of our nation into a beautiful symphony of brotherhood. With this faith, we will be able to work together, to pray together, to struggle together, to go to jail together, to stand up for freedom together, knowing that we will be free one day.
And this will be the day -- this will be the day when all of God's children will be able to sing with new meaning:
My country 'tis of thee, sweet land of liberty, of thee I sing.
Land where my fathers died, land of the Pilgrim's pride,
From every mountainside, let freedom ring!
And if America is to be a great nation, this must become true.
And so let freedom ring from the prodigious hilltops of New Hampshire.
Let freedom ring from the mighty mountains of New York.
Let freedom ring from the heightening Alleghenies of Pennsylvania.
Let freedom ring from the snow-capped Rockies of Colorado.
Let freedom ring from the curvaceous slopes of California.
But not only that:
Let freedom ring from Stone Mountain of Georgia.
Let freedom ring from Lookout Mountain of Tennessee.
Let freedom ring from every hill and molehill of Mississippi.
From every mountainside, let freedom ring.
And when this happens, when we allow freedom ring, when we let it ring from every village and every hamlet, from every state and every city, we will be able to speed up that day when all of God's children, black men and white men, Jews and Gentiles, Protestants and Catholics, will be able to join hands and sing in the words of the old Negro spiritual:
Free at last! Free at last!
Thank God Almighty, we are free at last!"

Happy Birthday Dianne!

Okay so Saturday was my co-worker, Dianne’s birthday. I knew I wanted to give her something special. She has truly been a God-send to me. When my car broke down I was about to panic about how I was going to get to work but before I even could, Dianne offered to let me ride with her. Oh..let me backtrack…when I got this job and they were taking me around to meet everyone, when I met Dianne she asked me where I live…

Me: I live in Hutto
Dianne: So do I
Me: I live in XXXX subdivision
Dianne: No way! So do I!!!
Me: Get out! I’m on XXX Dr.
Dianne: I live on the next street over!!!
Both: Small world!!!

Then we found out that she lives right next door to my daughter’s best friend. Mani had even helped feed Dianne’s cat while she was out of town (Her best friend was feeding the cat while she was away & Mani helped).

So she let me carpool with her all last week and even got SERIOUSLY mad at me when I offered her gas money.

Now I originally made this blanket for my ex’s mom but after praying about it and talking to one of my friends, decided that I needed to make a clean break from that relationship. Anyway he was supposed to have sent this blanket to his mother weeks ago when I finished it. I knew I wasn’t going to keep it and so I gave it to Dianne this morning.

She wouldn’t let me take her picture but here are her hands holding it up *LOL*

Non-crochet Random Thoughts

I had to take care of some business last week that regarded my daughter & her father and I was NOT a happy camper*ugh*

I often questioned why God would have me deal with my daughter's father when he is so off the beaten path and a felon. I questioned what happened with my decision making that I would even CHOSE to be around such a person, and have a relationship with him let alone create a child with him.

Then one day the Holy Spirit dropped into me that it didn't have anything to do with me. My daughter had to have this particular heritage...me as her mother and him as her father, as a part of HER purpose in Christ. Plain and simple.

Now things have worked out that he has NOT been a part of her life since day one except for a short period of time after she turned 8yrs old that ended (because of poor decisions on his part) before she turned 10yrs old. God...not me...has done a wonderful job of making sure that he wasn't around to pass on those bad habits & bad choices that landed him where he is.

He was destined to be her biological father, but not the one to influence her nor to raise her. When I realized that, it just really blessed me that even in the mistake I made for having dealt with her father in the first place, there was still a blessing from God in it.

Hobo Bag

Okay...... so if there is anyone who is actually reading this thing and viewing my projects...I guess you've figured out by now that I work on a lot of different stuff at the same time.

I've always been like that...I need to be able to switch gears and work on something different when I get bored with a particular stitch.

Sooooooo....I've started making this Hobo Bag.

Gonna make it bigger (longer top to bottom) than the pattern calls for simply because the folks that I would make them for (should they ask) don't carry small bags.

I'll be adding this one to my Ravelry In-progress list this afternoon.

Now I just need to find the perfect strap and I'm finished!

Mary Maxim - Breast Cancer Awareness

A while back I was surfin for a pattern to make for my (now ex) boyfriend's sister. She has breast cancer. I found this pattern but had never done filet crocheting before and wasn't too keen on spending $35.00 to get an original pattern to try it out.

The wonderful ladies on Crochet Partners heard my cry and one beautiful soul actually snail mailed me her pattern so I could try it out. So here is my start...completed 2 row sets and will probably do 3-4 more before I end it.

Baby Hats

I saw a post on Ravelry.com from a lady who's sister is a nurse overseas. She was asking for baby items to donate so I decided to make a few baby hats to give.

I got this pattern from: http://debscrafts55.blogspot.com/

I'm way behind, I told her I would make them a few weeks ago but there have been a lot of things going on in my life lately. Some sad & heartbreaking and others wonderful like a breath of fresh air.

I am truly blessed!
